H&M x Clozette Fall Fashion 16

​A couple of weeks back I got invited to be part of H&M x Clozette Fall Fashion lookbook campaign, which I was absolutely excited about. This was my first fashion photo shoot as the previous campaigns I’ve done were all for active wear. I must admit, I do wear active wear out and about on a regular basis just because it’s comfortable and all my friends who happen to be in the fitness industry do the same too. You know what they say about how birds of the same feathers flock together!
When I’m going out for a party, I do put in some effort to dress up. I love floral prints and flowy tops so that I feel cool throughout the night when I’m dancing. I tend to stick to fall colors when I shop as well. Warm colors match my ever-changing tanned skin as compared to cooler colors. I can vouch that all of these colors highlight my skin tone and accentuate my facial structure more so than others. Or perhaps, I fancy these colors more, so I could be biased!
Here are some shades to play and highlight your wardrobe with some Fall colours. 

​So how was this photo shoot a little different than others?

H&M’s Fall Fashion campaign #Ladylike is basically what defines me as a woman. I've always been different and felt out of place growing up. Therefore, I’ve always picked the rough side, hung out with boys, rolled in dirt and dedicated a lot of time to sports. However, I’ve never felt like I wasn’t lady-like, I was embracing my strength as an individual. As quoted from my favorite fashionista, Coco Chanel, “In order to be irreplaceable, one must always be different”.

Working with a team of professionals that helped put my outfit together made me realize that there’s no right or wrong in fashion! The photo below is one of my favorite looks, something I would wear for a day out shopping at Orchard Road. Just look at how the floral kimono compliments a simple black t-shirt and denim shorts. I love how it just spiced up a basic outfit.

​Having a floral kimono of a different material compared to my outfit gave the impression of a more feminine touch altogether. A darker tone of bodacious colour for my bag completed my entire look while balancing my look that helped me look a little more sophisticated. 

​My second look was more dramatic and edgy, I’m not sure if I can walk around without dropping the jacket every two minutes but draping it over the shoulders gives it a classier twist to an effortless dress. Sunglasses checked! Killer shoes checked! I've ever imagined wearing a scarf like that around my neck but it makes my outfit pop out even more with the vibrancy of the colour.

​Beside the 2 looks allocated to me by Clozette, I've also gotten a chance to style my own take using the Fall Collection items on a mannequin! H&M Fall Collection is so versatile, wearable at the same time comfortable. From my 2 allocated looks, they were very different but both embody the tough chick that I am. I’ve always liked watching retail stores transform a mannequin’s outfit from one to another and never in my wildest dreams would I think that I would have the chance to do it myself. 

​My favourite fashion trend at the moment is tucking in any top or blouse to my denim shorts or skirt.  I loved the button details on this dark blue denim skirt so I threw a white button down top over it for contrast. Sunglasses and headbands are a definite must for this season so I added them to complete the look!
